Rush Limbaugh Believes “The Dark Knight Rises” Is Part Of A Left-Wing Conspiracy

Of course.

Just in time to spoil everyone's fun, Rush Limbaugh has taken to the airwaves to claim that The Dark Knight Rises is nothing more than a left-wing conspiracy designed to subliminally turn voters against Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, according to The Hollywood Reporter. On his show, he focused most of his ire on the name of the film's villain, Bane.

"The audience is going to be huge. A lot of people are going to see the movie. And it's a lot of brain-dead people -- entertainment, the pop culture crowd -- and they're going to hear Bane in the movie and they're going to associate Bain," Limbaugh said. "And the thought is that when they're going to start paying attention to the campaign later in the year and Obama and the Democrats keep talking about Bain, not Bain Capital but Romney and Bain, that these people will start thinking back to the Batman movies, 'Oh yeah, I know who that is!' "

The Bain that Limbaugh is referring to is Bain Capital, the venture capital firm that Romney founded in the '80s and has since been a source of much controversy during his campaign. Even though there are political overtones in the movie, we sincerely doubt Christopher Nolan foresaw this scandal happening when the film went into production two years ago and put Bane in the script just to rankle a few Republicans.

Plus, the character of Bane isn't just some newcomer to Batman's world; he has been around since 1993. In fact, he was created by writer Chuck Dixon and artist Graham Nolan, who are both well-known conservatives

And if The Dark Knight Rises really was a devious ploy by the Obama campaign to turn voters against Republicans, we doubt they would have made a multi-billionaire with military-grade weaponry the hero of the story.
