Fourth-place wireless carrier T-Mobile will no longer claim to own "America's Largest 4G Network" in advertisements, the company has confirmed, after acknowledging that even its HSPA+ network, which could barely be categorized as 4G to begin with, has been surpassed by that of AT&T.

"With the breadth of T-Mobile's nationwide 4G network well established, we recently moved to a network claim that reflects the network's performance and reliability," a spokesman for the company said in a statement.

T-Mobile recently announced plans to adopt the faster 4G LTE protocol, which will hopefully help the carrier compete on more than just semantics.
