Two New Restaurants Opening in the East Village's Extra Place

Two for one.

Extra Place, an awkward little alley in the East Village located between the Bowery and Second Avenue, is now home to two new restaurants that share the same front entrance. There really isn't space for another arrangement. First is Extra Place, which features a Mediterranean menu with dashes of German and Turkish, and a $15 brunch. Extra Place is open from noon to 2 a.m. everyday, and also features a bar and outdoor seating.

Heidi (last image), on the other hand, is a Swiss restaurant that serves cured cold cuts for $18 and fondue. It's open a little earlier, setting up shop at 6 p.m. and going until 2 a.m. like its counterpart. Hopefully, these spots will be able to attract people to that little half-block.
