There will be an all-new Kindle Fire next week when Amazon holds a big press conference to announce its latest slate of products, but for now the original $199 tablet is off the market. Amazon has announced that the Fire is "sold out" and can no longer be purchased from its online store.

The retail giant of course doesn't go into detail about what's on deck to replace the Kindle Fire, but does promise customers won't be left wanting.

"Kindle Fire is sold out, but we have an exciting roadmap ahead—we will continue to offer our customers the best hardware, the best prices, the best customer service, the best cross-platform interoperability, and the best content ecosystem,” Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said in a statement.

Along with a new 7-inch Kindle Fire replacement, Amazon is rumored to be preparing a 10-inch iPad competitor as well as a possible smartphone. We'll have full coverage of Amazon's announcements next Thursday.
