Far Cry 2, despite its flaws, had one of the most gorgeous and detailed open worlds in any game. We've been hoping that Far Cry 3's tropical island setting would prove similar, but so far all we've seen are linear missions.
With this latest video feature out of Gamescom, though, we finally get a hint as to what Far Cry 3's environment will really be like.
It looks as if the annoying crossroads checkpoints from Far Cry 2 are gone, and in their place are outposts—enemy hideouts that, when infiltrated, will allow you to upgrade your weapons and get other perks.
