As the summer blockbuster season comes to a close, film fans everywhere can begin to look forward to movies that don't feature superhero costumes or CGI aliens. And one of the flicks getting the most attention and award buzz this fall is Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master.

Anderson has been very secretive about the project so far, but over the weekend he had a surprise screening of the movie in Santa Monica for an audience that was there for a showing of Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining.
