We're used to seeing insanely huge environments recreated block-by-block in Minecraft. Just look at these gorgeous portrayals of The Lord of the Rings' Mines of Moria, World of Warcraft's Azeroth, and ancient Rome.

But we can't remember a time before now that another game's world has been recreated officially.

But Ubisoft knows what its fans like (except for its fans who like PC gaming), and Far Cry 3's island is now open to exploration within the crafty world that Notch built. Just head to the official Far Cry 3 site and download the mod, and get ready to find the dozens of easter eggs hidden around the tropical island.

Here's the official description:

This free downloadable mod allows you to explore and survive the Minecraft PC experience with the warped tones of Far Cry 3. Has modifications to all aspects of the game, including blocks, mobs, weapons and tools.
