Rock Creek Social Club's "Goodlife DC" Grand Finale Is Tomorrow Night (10/16)

Going out with a bang.

None

Two years ago, D.C. collective Rock Creek Social Club introduced its Goodlife DC party as a bi-weekly experiment. It ballooned into the city's best party, becoming a weekly event drawing the likes of Pac Div, Wale, Common, Theophilus London, and Stalley. It was officially recognized as the best party in D.C. earlier this year. But after two years of success, the party is coming to an end tomorrow night. Nothing lasts forever.

The group has chosen to shut the party down while it's still popular, rather than risk it becoming a corny afterthought. Think of it like Barry Sanders retiring in his prime. Tomorrow's final installment goes down at Recess Lounge (727 15th St. NW) as usual, and this finale will be nothing short of cinematic, especially since it happens to fall into Howard University's Homecoming Week. The music will be handled by Rock Creek Social Club's own Jerome Baker lll and Spinser Tracy, as well as DJ Excel and DJ Impulse.

The fun starts at 10 p.m., and they're going out with a bang. Expect it to be like Benny's farewell party in City of God, minus the...well, you know if you've seen the movie.
