According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stephen Colbert will make a cameo appearance during one installment of director Peter Jackson’s upcoming Hobbit trilogy. There is no word on what his role will be, or which movie it will take place in, but we do know that it won’t happen during this December’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
Colbert is an avid Tolkien fan, and he even knows how to read Elvish, which is quite an impressive feat in certain circles. So now all we can do is wait to find out whether or not he’ll appear in The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug on December 13, 2013, or The Hobbit: There and Back Again on July 18, 2014.
