If you've ever found yourself feeling guilty for watching all those reruns of The O.C. on SOAPnet every day - and, don't worry, we don't judge - just remember: Duke University students are doing it too. Per a tweet from series creator Josh Schwartz this morning, apparently the university is now offering a course on the show and how it relates to 21st century American culture.

This is a class taught at Duke!Think I could pass.#durhamnchereicome twitter.com/JoshSchwartz76…

Called "California, Here We Come": The O.C. and the Self-Aware Culture of 21st Century America, the course promises to explore "the 'hyper self-awareness' unique to The O.C. and analyze Californian exceptionalism and singularity in history and popular culture, girl culture, 21st century suburban revivalism, the indie music scene, the meta-series, and more." Additionally, the course syllabus promises that material won't just focus on The O.C. - it will also delve into MTV pseudo-reality shows Laguna Beach and The Hills, as well as compare the shows to their New York counterpart, Gossip Girl.

And it can be all yours for the low, low tuition price of $56,000! On second thought, maybe we'll just stick to the reruns.
