You would think that the loss of director Matthew Vaughn would make us suspicious about X-Men: Days of Future Past, but with every new piece of information released about the movie we get more and more amped. And now director Bryan Singer has just tweeted out that Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart will be back as Magneto and Professor X respectively in the movie. Check it out below:

Thrilled to announce @ianmckellen118 & @sirpatstew are joining the cast of #XMEN #DaysOfFuturePast #magneto #professorX More to come...

Just because Stewart and McKellen are back doesn’t mean that James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender won’t also be playing Xavier and Magneto. Both actors are already confirmed to return, and with the plot of the movie revolving around time travel, it’s very likely that the older and younger versions of the characters will play huge roles in this movie. Perhaps they’ll even meet in person. Either way, the possibilities are staggering.

X-Men: Days of Future Past will hit theaters on July 18, 2014.
