Spotify is expanding its current mobile and desktop application offerings with a streaming web app.

The web version of Spotify has a similar setup to the desktop application with features like Spotify Radio, the "What's New" section, and playlist editing all brought over. Additionally, users without a premium account will be able to enjoy free, ad-supported streaming for millions of songs on demand just like with the desktop app.

Unfortunately the web version of Spotify is a beta launch and only selected users can access the service from their browsers. In a statement to The Next Web, Spotify discussed the new web application and its plans:

We can confirm we’ve launched a beta version of a Spotify web player that we’re testing with a small number of users. Potentially it’s a great additional feature for times you can’t play music through the  desktop app, like at work or at a friend’s house. We’ll have more detail on the web player next year.

For now, until more users are invited the beta, you can check out Spotify's desktop and mobile applications here.
