Could the 'Dark Souls 2' on Wii U Petition Succeed?

They've done it before...

None

Dark Souls 2 was revealed last weekend at the Spike TV Video Game Awards, to fans' great surprise and pleasure. But not everyone was happy with the news that the game would be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, and the petition to get Dark Souls 2 on the Wii U as well sprung up almost immediately.

To be fair, it's not that far-fetched—the Wii U is comparable in power to the other major consoles, and the game could benefit from Nintendo's GamePad controller. Imagine being able to switch weapons without having to obscure the screen or stop attacking—since there's no way to pause the game, the ability to control certain things on the controller's screen could be a boon.

And this wouldn't be the first Dark Souls petition that succeeded. A petition early this year to get Dark Souls ported to PC resulted eventually in the Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition for Windows and the "Artorias of the Abyss" DLC for consoles.

So even if you're worried about the sequel's new directors (and judging by their own statements so far, you may have cause to be), it can't hurt to pop over to the Dark Souls 2 on Wii U petition and lend them ten seconds of your time. Only about 90,000 more signatures to go, people! Good luck.
