"G.I. Joe: Retaliation" Resurfaces With A New Trailer (Video)

Let's see if that lengthy delay was worth it.

You may remember that G.I. Joe: Retaliation was supposed to be one of the most high-profile movies of the summer, but about a month before its intended release, Paramount delayed the film until the spring of 2013. The studio made the move so it could transfer the movie to 3D and add more scenes including Channing Tatum, who has grown into an A-list star in recent months.

Now the studio is starting all over again with its promotional material by releasing a new trailer for the movie. Featuring a mix of old and new footage, this trailer looks much more polished than anything we have seen from the film previously. The special effects have been given time for completion, and the requisite explosions and CGI all look on-point. Nothing looks to have changed from a plot standpoint, though, as the G.I. Joe squad must stop a presidential impersonator from destroying the globe. But for what it lacks in originality, Retaliation makes up for in testosterone-fueled stars like Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis, and Tatum.

If you were excited about the movie before the delay, this trailer should only get you more pumped for its release. But if you weren’t a fan earlier, this new footage won’t convert you into a believer.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation will hit theaters on March 29, 2013.
