The Dwarves Get Musical In This New Clip From "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" (Video)

Looks like Les Mis has some competition.

Something that many people are failing to realize as we wait for the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is that J.R.R. Tolkien’s original Hobbit novel was almost exclusively for children. It wasn’t like the Lord of the Rings saga that was densely packed with darkness and featured an impending Armageddon; instead, this was light, whimsical entertainment that put a focus on fun, rather than violence.

And to make the book even more kid friendly, Tolkien included a number of songs in the novel that were written with the youth in mind. Now not all of these songs made the cut in Peter Jackson’s movie, but one of the most famous ones, titled “Misty Mountains,” did. Courtesy of The One Ring, we have a clip featuring the song, which is performed by Thorin and the rest of the dwarves. Check it out above.
