In the first 100 days of President Obama's second term, he's expanded his social media reach even more—this time to Pintrest. The pinboard-style, social photo sharing site, which launched in March 2010, has become a popular online destination for certain celebrities, ranging from Oprah to Ryan Seacrest to Katy Perry.

The White House, however, has a specific mission in mind for its Pintrest page. "The White House will share pins and boards that range from inspiring images and quotes to infographics that help explain key issues to details about the life inside the White House," said Kori Schulman, director of online engagement for the Office of Digital Strategy, in a blog post.

As for the picture of Bo Obama, the only photo to grace the page so far, Alanna Okun of BuzzFeed reports:

It's a glamour shot of Bo Obama in the snow and an invitation for pinners to enter a contest to visit the White House on Dec. 17, when they'll get to check out the holiday décor and do a craft project that the White House would like them to share with their followers on Pinterest

The White House plans to roll out its first pinboards on December 17th, the day of its Holiday Social.
