Those of you waiting to get your first big horror fix of 2013 with Screen Gems’ remake of Carrie this March will have to wait a little while longer, because according to Shock till you Drop, the studio has pushed the movie back from March 15 to October 18. There is no word on why this decision was made, but horror movies have always done better closer to Halloween, so perhaps the studio just wanted to maximize its profit potential.

The flipside to that is now Carrie will hit theaters just a week before Paranormal Activity 5. The Paranormal Activity franchise has been the dominant horror property for the last few years, so it will be interesting to see how the remake of a traditional horror classic will do against the modern king of the genre.
