"Call of Duty: Ghosts" Announced by British Retailer

New entry into the already seminal franchise.

British retailer Tesco has recently posted an ad for a new entry into Activision's all consuming Call of Duty series.

Call of Duty: Ghosts has been marked with a December 13, 2013 street release and it seems that the British equivalent of Wal-Mart may have jumped the gun with the announcement. Activision will not be working with Treyarch on this next installment, instead opting to go with Infinity Ward for the development of the new title.

From the Tesco site:

The franchise that has defined a generation of gaming is set to raise the bar once again with the all-new Call of Duty: Ghosts. Published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward, the studio that created the original Call of Duty and the seminal Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series. Call of Duty: Ghosts ushers in the next generation of the franchise, delivering a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast, all powered by a new next-generation Call of Duty engine.

So there we go. When your last release makes you half a billion dollars in the first 24 hours, we guess anyone would be in a rush to crank out another sequel.
