Only God Forgives has sounded like it's going to be a strange, trippy film from the start - even star Ryan Gosling has said that the script was "the strangest thing I've ever read and it's only going to get stranger" - but, judging by this first full length red band trailer, it's going to be epic and gorgeous as well.

From director Nicolas Winding Refn, who also directed Gosling in 2011's Drive, Only God Forgives follows the story of an American man named Julian (Gosling) who runs a Thai boxing club in Bangkok which is actually a front organization for his family's drug smuggling operation. When his brother is killed, their mother, Jenna (Kristen Scott Thomas), orders Julian to find and kill his murderer.

Much like Drive, the film looks like it's going to offer vibrant and captivating cinematography in addition to a poignant storyline. Consider us intrigued.

You can check out the trailer above. Unfortunately, it'll be a while before the film actually hits theaters - it's set for a July 19th release. DeLoreans, now!
