More good news about the now-confirmed Veronica Mars film: Not only did series creator Rob Thomas and star Kristen Bell's Kickstarter page for the project end up breaking multiple records (including being the all-time highest funded project in Kickstarter history and the fastest project to reach $2 million), but the campaign has just closed with a whopping $5.7 million raised. Not bad, Internet!

The Kickstarter page was posted by Thomas and Bell early last month. Within four and a half hours of going live, the campaign - supplemented by a video that reunited Bell with VM cast members Enrico Colantoni, Jason Dohring, and Ryan Hansen - raised over $1 million, and by the end of the day, it had reached its goal of $2 million. After 30 days, supported by over 90,000 backers, the project surpassed its goal by over $3 million - huge news, considering that Bell and Thomas have fought tooth and nail for a VM film since the show went off the air in 2007.

The Veronica Mars film project will begin shooting this summer.
