Is Dan Harmon Returning to "Community"?

Looks like it.

It's been nearly exactly a year since Dan Harmon was unceremoniously axed from the very comedy he helped create, Community. It was shocking news since Harmon was a huge driving force behind making the show as good as it was, but NBC assured that the comedy would continue without him - and it did, for a fourth season and, soon, a fifth.

But with the exciting news that the network has renewed the comedy for a fifth season comes some even more exciting - and way shocking news. The site Hollywookiee is reporting that Harmon revealed to listeners of his Harmontown podcast that he had been asked back to the series to serve as an executive producer for the next season. From the post:

None

We'd usually say to take an unconfirmed post like this with a grain of salt, but there is a little more evidence: Additionally, a Tumblr user by the name of aeusum posted a screenshot of a question he sent to Harmon's official Tumblr asking about the rumors:

There's no exact indication when this exchange happened since it was conducted on Tumblr privately, but still, if it is real, it does support the rumors that Harmon is set to return to the series in some form.

No official word from Harmon or NBC as of yet. Is it too soon to start getting our hopes up?
