If the promotional material that's already rolled out for Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac hasn't been enough to convince you that this film is going to be batshit insane - behold its vagina poster! (Don't worry, it's safe for work) - then perhaps this new cast photo will be enough to convince.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the image is inspired by adult films - how sweet - and it features the cast in various stages of undress and compromising positions. For instance, Shia LaBeouf is shirtless with his hands around a table leg in a questionable fashion, Charlotte Gainsbourg, the film's titular nymphomaniac, has got her legs parted in front of a very interested Christian Slater, and Willem Dafoe has a fairly unfortunate stain on the front of his pants. It also, in a way, seems to answer an age old question: How many phallic images can you fit into one photo? Von Trier has outdone himself, because we're counting a lot.

Interestingly, the photo also somewhat echoes religious imagery from the time of the High Renaissance, which makes sense as Von Trier has said "repeatedly that religion is a key theme in the film, particularly the difference between the sexually repressive Catholic church and the more sensual Eastern Orthodox tradition."

You can check out the cast photo above. Nymphomaniac will hit theaters on December 25th, because isn't a movie about a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac just the perfect Christmas story?
