Paris Hilton's onscreen role in Sofia Coppola's The Bling Ring is minor - she appears for a few moments in a nightclub scene with the main cast present - but her role in the real-life events that the film is based on is more weighty: Nearly five years ago, Hilton's mansion was one of the many celebrity homes burglarized by a group of San Fernando Valley teens who became so notorious in Los Angeles that they were dubbed both the "Hollywood Hills Burglar Bunch," and "The Bling Ring."

Though she calls the event "violating," Hilton made her house available for filming when she heard that Coppola was making a film based on the case - and last night, at the film's premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, it was so moving an experience that Hilton said it brought her to tears.

She detailed the experience to Vulture after the film's premiere:

None

Does that mean she has any sympathy for the real-life kids who stole nearly $2 million of jewelry from her home in 2008?

None

As for why she lent her house to a filming crew for two weeks, Hilton explained that she only considered it because Coppola was behind the film. "Well, the only reason I agreed to do it at all is because it's Sofia," she said. "I have so much respect for her and I think she's an incredibly talented director. If it was anyone else doing this project, I would have said no, or 'You're not coming in my house,' but I trust her. And the movie is amazing. It's so good." Also, Hilton said that she designed her whole house, which suddenly makes the pictures of those pillows with her face monogrammed on themeven better

Perhaps the best part of Vulture's account, however, is this:

None

Just another day in the life of Paris Hilton.
