" I'm going to tell it all."

These were Charles Ramsey's words to Anderson Cooper as he once again explained how he rescued Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight from his next door neighbor, Ariel Castro, who held them captive for ten years. He's just as ridiculous and just as honest. Despite becoming the face of the New American Hero in a very short period of time, Ramsey hasn't changed.

In fact, he doesn't even consider himself a hero:

None

You don't have to be Bruce Wayne to be a hero; you don't have to be Tony Stark. Hell, you don't even have to wear a uniform. When Cooper inquired about whether or not Ramsey had been approached about a reward, he once again showed how selfless he is:

None

Despite his heroics, Ramsey's personality shone through like stadium floodlights from above. That—as well as his appearance—have made him the latest meme phenomenon; sadly, the Internet—the same community singing his praises—is really just happy to have something else to laugh at until they forget about Ramsey, Amanda Berry and the entire ordeal.

Maybe, just maybe, we should really appreciate the character displayed by Charles Ramsey's actions (something that outshines his rough exterior), before we laugh at his expense and forget about everything. The full manuscript is available here; watch the interview below for the right reasons.
