The skinny home located at 75 1/2 Bedford Street in Greenwich Village holds the distinction of being New York City's narrowest. The three bedroom, two bath home has attracted many a celebrity over the years (John Barrymore and Cary Grant have lived there), and that's driven the asking price up. It sold for $2.175 million in 2010, but appeared on the market again following a renovation with the asking price basically doubling to $4.3 million.

By the middle of last year, the price had dropped to $3.495 million, which is what it's currently listed at, though that price will probably take another dip. Pets are allowed, but they only have a narrow space to run around and play.
