Rob Lowe's past acting roles range from playing an upbeat health nut in Parks and Recreation to a crazy actor in Californication to a Deputy White House Communications Director on The West Wing, but now he's ready to take on presidency.

Courtesy of EW, here is the first image of Lowe as John F. Kennedy for the upcoming National Geographic Channel's two-hour docu-drama Killing Kennedy, which is based off of the non-fiction book of the same name by Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard. It follows the final years of Kennedy's life, and that of his assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald. The image is modeled after the famous official portrait of Kennedy, which can be seen to the right.

Will Rothhaar will be starring as Oswald. Also featured are Ginnfer Goodwin as Jackie Kennedy, and Michelle Trachtenberg as Oswald's wife, Marina. It was directed by The West Wing's Nelson McCormick.

Killing Kennedy will premiere in November, to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Kennedy's death.
