With production on the Veronica Mars movie gearing up to begin, the cast seems to finally be officially coming together. The newest additions: Percy Daggs III, who portrayed Veronica's best friend Wallace Fennel for the show's three-season run, and Chris Lowell, who portrayed Veronica's college friend-turned-boyfriend, Stosh 'Piz' Piznarski in the third season.

Daggs' casting news came first—last week, series creator Rob Thomas wrote to the film's 91,585 backers on Kickstarter to announce the news, saying, "As so many of you wrote to remind me, Wallace’s friendship with Veronica has always been one of the foundations of the show...and now that he’s officially signed, I can admit that there was never a version of the script that didn’t include him. It just wouldn’t happen." Damn straight.

According to Deadline, Thomas revealed the news of Lowell joining the cast on Saturday in another email. No official start date for production was given, but Thomas said that the project should begin shooting some time next week.

After the casting was announced, Daggs himself took to YouTube to thank fans for their support, and gave shoutouts to co-stars Kristen Bell and Enrico Colantoni. It's all really happening!
