Get Ready For More "Arrested Development"

Creator Mitch Hurwitz says the show is "definitely" returning.

None

Big news for the little show that could, Arrested Development: About two months after Netflix CEO Reed Hastings commented that the video streaming site would be open to more episodes of the series, creator Mitch Hurwitz has revealed that we "definitely" have not seen the last of the Bluth family.

Hurwitz made the impromptu announcement at the Just for Laughs festival in Montréal, where he appeared with Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos. UK-based site Chortle had the scoop from the event:

None

As for what form the series will return in, Hurwitz was less decisive about that. He continued:

None

Bottom line, though, is that we are absolutely, "definitely" getting something new from Arrested Development, and it won't be character episodes like season four was. While it was enjoyable to watch—because we're pretty sure Hurwitz and his crew could write a script about paint drying and make it seem interesting—not having the cast completely together and utilizing green screens just made it feel like Arrested Development-lite. If a fifth season or movie bypassed that step and got the whole gang back together, that would surely be successful.

Of course, nothing is official yet—but "definitely" is a good enough promise for us. Don't let us down, guys.
