In the smartphone business, apps are your bread and butter. Consumers want access to all of the best apps even if they don’t use them. It is important to at least have the option.

Nokia’s Vice President, Bryan Biniak, understands the importance of apps and wants to push Microsoft to update the Windows Phone at a faster pace before they lose anymore customers. The Lumia 1020 may have the best camera of any smartphone on the market but with Instagram still not available for Window Phones, Biniak predicts that consumers will hesitate to buy.

“We are releasing new devices frequently and for every new device, if there is an app that somebody cares about that’s not there, that’s a missed opportunity of a sale,” Biniak told International Business Times. “It’s not just about the hardware, it’s about the tools that are on the hardware. You can’t sell a phone without the apps, you just can’t.”

Biniak admits that Windows Phone has a great variety of apps but without the few essential ones, his frustrations with Microsoft will continue to grow.
