Bad news for Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and her husband, Joe: According to Gawker, the two have been indicted on charges of bank and bankruptcy fraud. Even worse, the two are each facing 30 years in prison, as well as a $1 million fine.

The news was released in an official document from the U.S. Attorney in New Jersey. The document in full runs about 33 pages, but it basically details their crimes, and specifies that they were indicted on charges for "a conspiracy to defraud lenders and illegally obtain mortgages and other loans as well as allegedly hiding assets and income during a bankruptcy case." It suggests that Teresa allegedly hid her true salary that she earned for her work on Real Housewives, and any subsequent payraises.

Teresa has commented on the charges, but only through her attorney: "Today is a most difficult day for our family...I support Joe and, as a wonderful husband and father, I know he wants only the best for our lovely daughters and me. I am committed to my family and intend to maintain our lives in the best way possible, which includes continuing my career. As a result, I am hopeful that we will resolve this matter with the Government as quickly as possible."

Both Teresa and Joe are expected to show up at the courthouse in Newark, NJ on Tuesday. Who wants to bet that next season of RHONJ is going to chronicle this trial with a lot of scenes featuring Teresa crying and/or screaming? We can only hope there'll be some table-flipping involved in the near future.
