After just one day of sales Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Rebornservers are crowded and dropping users. Square Enix's temporary fix is to suspend digital downloads while it bolsters servers.

In an official release on Square Enix's Facebook page, the company states:

"Due to the overwhelmingly positive response to FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn, we are currently experiencing extremely long wait times for users to be able to log in and play. As a temporary measure, we will halt sales of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A REALM REBORN’s digital download products so we can accommodate all of those wishing to play. We are working to expand our server capacity in the coming days."

This is pretty bad for Square Enix, slowing down its sales won't effect those who've been biting their nails waiting for this release but will deter new users from jumping on the bandwagon. We could argue that every MMO in recent memory has this exact same issue but seems like even more reason for it to haven't happened.

Hopefully they'll get these technical issues resolves quickly because gamers who've been around for awhile might be used to these kind of problems but the new blood MMO's need to survive will not be.
