PROMO: In "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," Andy Samberg & Co. Show They're Ready for Primetime

Brooklyn's Finest, in all their quirky glory.

None

Detective Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) doesn't have much use for authority--not because he's bad at his job, but because he's so good at it. He has the best arrest record in all of Brooklyn's 99th precinct, which probably explains why he's always been indulged a bit when it comes to his behavioral idiosyncrasies. But all that's about to change. The precinct has just brought in a new commanding officer, Captain Ray Holt (Andre Braugher), who is about to teach Peralta and the rest of his squad mates how to actually respect the badge--that is, if they all don't kill each other first.

The new Fox show Brooklyn Nine-Nine brings together this hilarious veteran sketch performer (Sandberg) and brilliant veteran character actor (Braugher) to give audiences one of the best TV odd couples in quite some time. Rounding out the fantastic ensemble cast are Melissa Fumero (Gossip Girl), Terry Crews (Everybody Hates Chris), Joe Lo Truglio, (Superbad), Stephanie Beatriz (Modern Family), and Chelsea Peretti (Parks and Recreation). Brooklyn Nine-Nine is that rare police show that successfully blends action and comedy, that shows what life is like not just on the job, but behind the badge. Along the way, it also shows that Andy Samberg, who's spent seven years on TV at 11:30 or later, is undoubtedly one of the best new primetime stars around.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine premieres Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 8:30/7:30c, only on Fox. For more on the show and to check out a sneak preview of the pilot episode, click here.
