Call of Duty spares no expense when it comes to promotion surrounding any upcoming game, and this year is no different. For the first time in this illustrious run, the mega franchise will allow gamers to create a female soldier to bring into battle.

This time around, the team over at Activision has enlisted non other than Megan Fox to appear in their upcoming television ad for Call of Duty: Ghosts entitled,"Epic Night Out".

This isn't the first time Call of Duty has reached out to A list celebrities. Last year publishers brought in the likes of Sam Worthington, Jonah Hill and Robert Downey Jr. for a commercial promoting Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. According to sources, Fox has about a 10 second scene in the upcoming commercial and is important because she will become the first female to be the lead in a Call of Duty spot.

Glenn Cole, Chief Creative Officer of 72andSunny, the agency behind Call of Duty advertisements said "She's fun, she's sexy, she's cool, she's badass, she's recognizable around the world. And the role was fun.

A step in the right direction for the franchise as it looks they are straying away from strictly focusing on a male demographic. Activision CMO Tim Ellis added that, "Video gaming isn't just about dudes today."

The commercial spot is set to air during an episode of Saturday Night Live on November 2.
