The Competitors

Marshall Law
Got his start in the orginal Tekken video game back in 1994. Since his tournament fighting days, Marshall has opened his own martial arts school.

Sub-Zero
A deadly assassin from the Mortal Kombat franchise who has the ability to freeze and destroy his foes where they stand.

  • A digitized homage to the late martial artist Bruce Lee.

  • An angry ninja who turns people into popcicles.

Marshall Law Wins!

As awesome as freezing enemies and smashing them into pieces can be, a nod to one of the greatest fighters in the world can't go uncredited. Marshall Law may not be able to manipulate the elements but the amount of training and discipline it takes to get to his level is worthy of praise.

  • Marshall Law is a high-level master of Jeet Kun Do.

  • Sub-Zero is a master at killing anyone he comes across.

 Sub-Zero Wins!

A total no brainer here. When it comes down to sheer intimidation, a shuriken between the eyes trumps a kick in the nuts any day. While Marshall Law may be able to execute a flawless face-crushing jab, Sub-Zero is equipped to crush skulls without hesitation. The ninja ain't a joke.

  • Nice with his hands and weapons. Also, he's no joke with a pair of nunchuks.

  • Doesn't use a lot of weapons but has an uppercut that could depapitate a horse.

 Sub-Zero Wins!

Sub-Zero's uppercut—like other characters in Mortal Kombat—can lift opponents off their feet like a blast from a sawed-off shotgun. Nunchuks look badass and can do damage in a brawl but a post "Finish Him/Her" uppercut ends the battle in one shot. This one has to go to Zero.

  • Has a wife and child that he now lives the quiet suburban life with after ripping his homeboys off of tournament money.

  • Left his clan of murerous ninjas to be a good guy. Sub-Zero later got powerful enough to take over the clan as his own.

 Sub-Zero Wins!

Marshall Law had a really rough break. He went from slanging Chinese food in San Francisco to owning a martial arts school, to owning a restaraunt then back to running a school. Every business failed miserably but that's no excuse to spike a pizza with laxatives and jet with the prize money friends helped to win. Sub-Zero on the other hand, used his shortcomings to get stronger and eventually kicked everyone's ass who tried to play him out.

The winner of the match-up goes to one of Mortal Kombat's all-time favorite characters, Sub-Zero. Not only is he a hard-rock, he's also a great American success story. If there's anyone who has pulled himself up by the boot straps and used exccessive violence to make a life for himself, it's the blue ninja. While not taking anything away from Marshall Law's skills, Zero has got him beat as an all-around opponent with cooler moves and in a twisted way, more upstanding character.
