Today Valve dropped the latest update for the multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) eSports hit Dota 2 dubbed Diretide.

Additions include a couple new heroes, an in-game coaching system, crafting and socketing as well as a brand new showcase camera.

The in-game coaching system will allow for coaches to jump onto the screen of students and draw on the ground and mini-map to help guide them. Coaches can also ping elements on their heads up display as well as a private communication channel. Experienced players can build their teams faster and help new players get on the same page by coaching up to three students at a time.

A new Showcase View allows players to zoom in and out the battlefield. When used with replay, players can get multiple angles on the action.

The Diretide update also adds a bunch of gameplay, system and graphics tweaks. If you take your Dota 2 seriously feel free to nerd-out over the notes here.

Another major change is to the economy of the game. Valve states that it may temporarily disrupt market prices. "In order to prevent items being purchased at pre-update prices for arbitrage [to profit from unequal prices], we are removing all item listings and returning them to their owners," Valve explained. "While this removal process is taking place, new items will not be able to be listed on the Steam Community Market."
