Good news, PlayStation fans – another racing game has pulled ahead to take the place of Sony’s own now-delayed Driveclub. That would be Need For Speed Rivals, which looks like it’s shaping up to be a good Hot Pursuit-type racer souped up with the technical gloss of DICE’s Frostbite 3 engine.
Rivals also makes use of the somewhat ridiculously named AllDrive (could be a lot worse, granted) system, which stitches together single player, co-op and multiplayer in one cohesive experience. The game also has remote play functionality with the Vita, so that’s a nice bonus.
Bottom line is, if you were hoping for a racing game at launch and were disappointed by Driveclub’s delay, this should come as a nice surprise.
