Timothy Leary may be dead, but his videogame projects from the early 1980s are living again as the New York Public Library is working to preserve the lost work.
Kotaku created this mini-documentary about the LSD guru’s venturing into mind-altering video games that would theoretically allow users to alter their perspective in a way similar to the LSD experience. One of the unreleased games was a barely started - though intriguing - version of the classic novel Neuromancer that was going to be worked on by beat/heroin addict/wife killer William S. Burroughs and featuring cameos and content from David Byrne, music from Devo and artwork and likenesses of Keith Harring. Did your brain just explode? Because ours did trying to grasp how amazing a game like that would be.
