If you’re a fan of 3D movies and were hoping to use your spiffy new Xbox One to play them, you’re apparently out of luck, Microsoft says. The company’s next-gen hardware won’t be supporting 3D movie playback – although it does play regular blurays, a jump up from the 360.
Talking to CNET, Microsoft said that while the feature will be disabled at launch, it’s not off the table that playback might be added at a later date through a system update.
Then again, if you’re a fan of 3D movies, you may in fact already be set up with a bluray player that supports them, so it might not be an issue either way. For the Xbox One, it’s probably up to how much people want the feature.
