Everyone who wants in is now free to do so, instantly with Steam.

In a blog post Valve said that after “recently completing a set of server management upgrades as well as releasing a huge number of enhancements to the new user experience.” Dota 2's original beta ended in July admitting players in waves to the servers as it scaled-up its hardware to meet the demand. Now that all restrictions have been lifted the current number of users is sure to rise past the 6.5 million per month who already play the game.

Defense of the Ancients 2 (Dota 2) is a remake of the classic multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game created from a mod of Warcraft 3. The game pits two teams of heroes against each other to defend their bases in a five vs. five match up. Dota 2 has quickly become one of the biggest eSports sensations with millions of players worldwide and huge international competitions with millions in cash and prizes.
