Yikes—this could get ugly. Only a month after calling execs at AMC "sociopaths" for firing him as showrunner of The Walking Dead back in 2011, Frank Darabont is reportedly suing AMC under the claims that the network never paid him money that was due for his participation in developing The Walking Dead for television. As his lawyer, Dale Kinsella, explained to The Hollywood Reporter: "AMC’s conduct toward Frank to date has been nothing short of atrocious...unfortunately, the fans of The Walking Dead have suffered as well by being deprived of his creative talent."
Apparently, Darabont is claiming in the suit that he and his agents at CAA have not seen "even one dollar" from his promised compensation for working on the series, and "an alleged sweetheart deal between the network and its production arm 'is clearly designed to ensure that [Darabont and CAA] never see that first dollar.'"
