Spike Jonze's movies are anything but conventional, and his latest effort, Her, is no different. The film stars Joaquin Phoenix as Theodore Twombly, a man who, after getting over his last relationship, falls in love with an operating system named Samantha (voiced by Scarlett Johansson). Her does deliver a story of romance, but not one that you would expect.

Despite the bizarreness of it all, Her actually turns out to be one of the most heartwarming, sweet and clever movies that the director has ever made. It's certainly a must-see for 2013. And in a year with some very strong competition, that's saying a lot.

Last week in Los Angeles, Warner Bros. held a red carpet premiere for the film at the Directors Guild of America. Our friends from We Got This Covered were there to capture the event, where they caught up with Phoenix's co-stars Rooney Mara and Olivia Wilde.

Check out their exclusive interviews in the video above, and be sure to catch Her when it opens in limited theaters tomorrow, December 18.
