Just hours after Deadline reported that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was in talks to produce, direct, and star in an adaptation of DC ComicsSandman at Warner Brothers, the star took to Twitter to confirm his involvement. Check out his tweet below.

Ladies and gentlemen, I'm incredibly honored to be working with David Goyer, Warner Bros, and @neilhimself on SANDMAN. #Prelude

Other than the big news that he confirmed here, the tweet is interesting for two reasons. First, apparently Neil Gaiman, the creator of the Sandman comic, will be involved in the project in some way (remember, they’re still looking for a writer). The second item to note is the #Prelude hashtag that Gordon-Levitt uses. This could be an indication that the movie will be based on Gaiman’s "Preludes & Nocturnes" storyline, which served as the debut tale for the character in 1989.

While this tweet answered many questions, it raised plenty more. We’ll have more on Sandman as it becomes available.
