Newtown, Connecticut Asks for Privacy on Anniversary of Sandy Hook Massacre

A year ago, 20-year-old Adam Lanza killed 20 first graders and six faculty members at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. A year later, the town has requested quiet and privacy on the anniversary of one of the most horrific school shootings to date.

Early this morning, church bells rang 26 times in Newton as the names of each victim were read at St. Rose of Lima church. This is the most public event remembering the lives lost a year ago, as the town hopes to keep visitors away.
