The eagerly awaited 8-bit adventure game Starbound goes into beta testing today on Steam. Developer Chucklefish, who also wrote Terraria, created a procedurally generated (always changing) universe for players to explore and exploit. Players colonize planets then terraform and build structures like a 2D Minecraft.
Starbound has been receiving some serious hype after securing over 2.2 million in pre-orders since April of 2013 making it hotly anticipated.
