White characters in rap videos aren't so much of a big deal now. But this wasn't always the case. It used to be that if you saw a Caucasian in the visual for what's a predominantly black artform, you had to pay attention. Something important was happening. Whether that white person was personifying the struggle against "the man," racial profiling, or on a more positive note, the weakening of racial barriers, the looks given to white people in the history of hip-hop videos is worth discussion. If you were to rely on just rap to learn just what they're all about, here's what you'd discover.
