"Angry Birds" Among Apps Leaking Data to NSA

Rovio's Angry Birds is among a number of "leaky apps" being used by the National Security Administration to collect user data, according to a report from the New York Times.

British intelligence documents show that the NSA and the Britain's Government Control Headquarters worked together and captured data including "location, age, sex and other personal information." The partnership dates back to 2007.

Other apps being used in ways not intended by their developers to collect information include Google Maps and mobile versions of social networks like Facebook and LinkedIn.

Rovio, the Finnish video game developer, was criticized in 2012 for collecting personal information. through Angry Birds.
