After scoring major hits in the film world including The Fighter, Silver Linings Playbook, and this year's Academy Award Best Picture nominee American Hustle, David O. Russell is heading to the TV world. According to EW, ABC has ordered a new "soapy drama" straight to series from the director.

The series, which is currently untitled, has been given a 13-episode order for the moment, and is described as a "upstairs/downstairs soap set at a private country club" with a ton of drama. Along with Russell, Erin Brockovich writer Susannah Grant is also working on the project.

This will be Russell's first project for television.
