David O. Russell Compares Jennifer Lawrence's "Hunger Games" Schedule To Slavery

Director David O. Russell has gotten the benefit of two of Jennifer Lawrence’s best performances in Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle, but apparently he’s not happy about the way she’s treated when she’s on the set of the blockbuster Hunger Games franchise. NY Daily News Confidential (via Bossip) is reporting that the director had some inflammatory things to say about her schedule on those movies. Here is the report:

There really is no comparison between the work done on a film set for millions of dollars to the very real tragedy of slavery. Russell’s comments were obviously meant to be hyperbole, but there have been plenty of cringe-worthy 12 Years a Slave jokes recently and the world simply doesn’t need any more.
