With the recent announcement that Amazon will be releasing a new gaming console before 2014 comes to a close, it's probably no coincidence that Google has dropped some gaming themed news today as well.

An experiment by Google, Five Games, is meant to attract video game developers to start taking Google Glass as a serious platform for future games. Using a combination of motion control, voice commands, and Glass' built in camera players are shown chopping, swiping, and shooting using only the Glass headset.

While the games may be bare bones in their presentation, they're meant to show off the potential of Google's hardware. The second iteration of which, Explorer Edition, has just begun shipping to prototype participants. It's elegant, and teaming with possibilities.
