Dark Souls fans are already well-aware of the importance of strategy, endurance management and most of all, patience, none of which seem to be particularly well-heeded in this new, all-too-tantalizingly brief clip of Dark Souls II gameplay from a recent preview event in London.

While Official PlayStation Magazine UK put themselves on chopping block to give you a brief look around one forested area in the DSII's Forest of the Fallen Giants, what's most noticeable to avid Souls players is that the enemy AI does indeed appear to be quite a bit more aggressive, with these relatively lowly undead resembling the aggression levels of Boletaria's imperial spies in Demon's Souls.

Though the player doesn't get far – obviously it wouldn't be Dark Souls gameplay for the average joe without a bit death – it's entertaining, or perhaps amusing, to see their lack of progress in challenging a hulking dread knight in a flat-topped helm, who interestingly seems merely content to rest by a tree until attacked (though they could sneak up on the player later if let alone, perhaps). With so little progress at one point you just want to make the player run through the white fog that's off to the left of the sunny grove, but to no avail.

Dark Souls II is out March 11.
